Product Details

Unique, useful herb that looks great in the flower garden! This distinctive dill remains short, unlike its tall cousin, yet is used the same way. Seed heads are a must for pickling. Fern-like foliage, often called "dill weed", is used to flavor seafood, poultry, eggs and salads. Matures in 70 days and produces prolifically. Sowing indoors is not recommended. Dill does not transplant well. Sow in full sun in mid-spring when soil has warmed. Press seeds need light to germinate. Keep soil moist until seeds sprout.

  • Lifecycle: Annual
  • Botanic Name: Anethum graveolens
  • Harvest: Cut the dark blue-green leaves at any time. For pickling, cut seed heads before yellow flowers appear. Allow flowers to produce seed for dried use. Cover seed heads with a paper bag to prevent self-sowing.
  • Height: 18" (45cm)
